Before laying PVC flooring, the construction master will go to the site to evaluate and test the original floor firstly,and only proceed with subsequent construction work after meeting the construction standards.
1.First, predict the temperature, ambient temperature,and humidity at the construction site.
The normal ambient temperature during construction should not be lower than 15 ℃, and the ground temperature should be above 10℃.The usage time and curing time are closely related to temperature.Interface agents shorten the curing time at high temperatures and prolong it at low temperatures.
PVC flooring will experience thermal expansion and contraction with changes in the environment.In order to reduce the shrinkage and curling of the floor, it should be opened and placed on site 24 hours in advance to restore the memory of the material and adapt to the room temperature of the construction site.
2.Confirm the type and flatness of the ground.
We usually use a 2-meter ruler and a feeler gauge for inspection. The standard for detecting the flatness of the base layer is:
a.The gap between cement and concrete should not exceed 4mm, and if it exceeds this, it needs to be repaired;
b.The gap between cement mortar should not exceed 3mm. If there is a large horizontal error on a large area of the ground, secondary leveling should be carried out. The ground strength should not be lower than C20, and the leveling layer should be flat without unevenness. The ground flatness should be within a 2-meter straightedge range with a height difference of less than 2mm.
3.Evaluate the strength and cracks of the ground
To ensure that the laid ground has sufficient strength to support the various layers of structures on it. The standards for surface hardness and humidity testing of the base layer are:
a.The strength requirement for cement concrete should be greater than C25;
b.The strength requirement for cement mortar is not less than M15 (volume ratio 1:3);
c.The cement surface layer shall not have sanding,hollowing, cracking, and excessive pores on the surface.Serious sanding,hollowing and cracking should be repaired. Mild cracks should be filled with glue and treated with steel bars.
4.estimate the moisture content of the ground foundation.
According to the requirements of floor construction, the moisture content of the foundation should be less than 3% (weight percentage),and the air humidity should be between 20% and 75%. If the air humidity is too high,the air conditioner and dehumidifier can be turned on.If the ground moisture content is greater than 4%,epoxy based products can be used for moisture-proof treatment. If it is greater than 8%,it is not recommended to lay PVC plastic flooring normally.
5.Confirm the type of interface agent used,select the appropriate level of self leveling and adhesive.
6.Surface cleanliness:Clean up residual substances such as oil stains, wax,paint,pigments,etc
7. Pay attention to avoiding cross construction.If there is cross construction,protective measures should be taken for the ground.
